The Mauritius Government is awarding Undergraduate, Diploma, Master’s and PhD scholarships for Africans to Mauritius.
Eligibility for Undergraduate Programs:
- Applicants need to be between the age of 18 and 26 years by 22nd August 2022
- They should have completed secondary school and satisfy a minimum grade of 21 points at HSC A- Level or GCE
- Points will be computed on grades D=6, C=7, B=8, A=9, A+=10 obtained in three core subjects
- Alternatively, they should have an average of 60% or 12/20 or qualification equivalent to the points mention

Diploma Programs Eligibility:
- Must attain a minimum of 5 credits at O’ Level, School Certificate or International General Certificate of Secondary Education and a
- Provide any proof of English language proficiency

Requirements for Master’s Porgrams:
- The standard age for applicants for Master’s programs is 35 years
- Undergraduate degree certificate with at least upper second class honors from a valid higher education institution or CPA/GPA more than 60%

Requirements for PhD Programs:
- Should be 40 years old and below by 22nd August 2022
- Have atleast upper second class undergraduate degree and a master’s degree
- Must carefully read the Guidelines for Applicants- MPhil-PhD
NB: If the language of instruction in previous learning examination is not English, candidates must provide a valid TOEFL test result showing a minimum score of 79 (internet based), 213 (computer based) or 550 (paper based) or valid IELTS results showing a minimum score of 5.5, or any valid proof of proficiency in English language.
Application Procedure:
- Applicants should access the application form from the Government’s Portal or from the Higher Education Institution in Mauritius
- Application must also be done to the Higher Education Institutions as indicated in the Guidelines for applications for diploma, degree, master’s and PhD programmes highlighted above
Benefits of the Scholarship:
- The scholarship provides successful candidates with tuition fees and contribution for their living expenses during their study in Mauritius
- Return air ticket will also be covered for the most economical route covering travel from home country at the start of the studies and back to the home country after successful completion of studies
NB: Successful candidates must be vaccinated for covid-19 and provide a negative PCR test taken within three days before leaving their home country. Candidates who cannot be vaccinated for medical purposes must provide a duly certified medical certificate.
