The Rotary Peace Center is offering academic training, global networking and practice opportunities to professionals who are interested in peace development. With the aim of pursuing peace, the Rotary Foundation will award a maximum of 80 scholarships for certificate studies at the premier high education institutions and 50 scholarships for master’s degree. A total of 130 Fully Funded Rotary scholarships are up for application.
Benefits of the Scholarships
The program covers fees and tuition, board and room, field-study expenses, internship and round-trip transportation.
Eligibility for Master’s Degree Program
- Candidates should be proficient in English language
- They must have attained a bachelor’s degree
- Applicants should show a vivid commitment to cross-cultural peace and understanding via their academic and professional achievements as well as community or personal service
- They need to show potential of leadership
- Need to have three years and more of full-time relevant experience in development and peace work
- Applicants should have at least three years between their intended start day of the scholarship and the completion of their most recent degree program
- Those that are currently enrolled in graduate and undergraduate program are not eligible to apply
Eligibility for Professional Development Certificate Program
Candidates need to meet all the master’s degree requirements stipulated above together with the following additional requirements:
- Should have five years of full-time experience in development or peace
- They should demonstrate leadership skills
- Need to demonstrate the alignment of their plan to promote peace with the mission of Rotary
- Candidates for the Makerere University should either have worked in Africa, be from Africa, or have worked with the African communities or outside continent initiatives
